"Seer aims to reveal a kinship and a mutual ground between disparate practices all working within a shared institution; within its infrastructure, curriculum and its resources. An institution that limits and restrains, enables and give means to a discourse of knowledge- and image production. In the passage between two semesters, Seer summons the relation between materiality and concept, between object and subject, in order to visualise how the things around us enables what we can think and know. CEO. resides within the spatial parameters of what was formerly used as a medical examination bench. It is now an experimental gallery with no other home than within itself. CEO. is run by Camilla Edström Ödemark.

 

"On the backside of the examination bench, Kier Cooke Sandvik’s drawings hang, loosely attached to the bench with medical tape. They’re dark, disturbing, displaying sadistic violence with an undertone of sexuality and lust. Naked bodies are experimented on, bent and crying out with pain, but beauty and desire exist on the same plane; behind a doctor-type filling their needle, a bouquet of flowers stands on the table. There is a strange desire in the fear of being considered an object, to be used and stripped of agency. Are the drawings an exploration of desire or pain, maybe both?"
